WASHINGTON DC – (Bradford Richardson Washington Times. Click on link to read the full story. Here is an excerpt) Hundreds of thousands of students, activists and congregants will take to the streets of the nation’s capital Friday, as the March for Life, no longer mired in the shadow of a pro-choice president, renews its fight to eradicate the practice of abortion. & With President Trump in office and pro-life policy already churning out of a Republican-controlled Congress, the pro-life movement is perhaps as close as it has ever come to accomplishing some of its biggest goals, including a federal ban on abortions after the unborn can feel pain, defunding Planned Parenthood and appointing a pro-life majority to the U.S. Supreme Court.

WASHINGTON DC – (Stephen Dinan, Washington Times Please click to read the entire story, and the rapid fire events that are happening in the new administration.) President Trump on Wednesday ordered the Homeland Security Department to begin releasing a name-and-shame list of sanctuary cities, listing the specific crimes such as murder or robbery committed by those who have been released back into their communities under the sanctuary policies. & Border Patrol and interior enforcement agents have been unshackled from the limits imposed by former President Barack Obama, as Mr. Trump said he wants to see them doing the jobs they were hired for. & He said he wants to enlist those local police and sheriff’s offices that are eager to enforce immigration law, and will punish those that throw up roadblocks — including the new name-and-shame list. & Some 279 cities and counties refused to cooperate on at least some deportations in 2016, accounting for 2,008 immigrants who were shielded, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

SPRINGFIELD (Please Click to read the story from Doug Finke of the Springfield Journal-Register about Governor Bruce Rauner’s State of the State address. Here are some excerpts.) Gov. Bruce Rauner went off script during his third State of the State speech Wednesday to praise Senate efforts to negotiate an end to the budget stalemate and urge them to keep at it until an agreement is reached. Rauner made the statement even as those Senate efforts seemed to founder in the last couple of days, calling into question whether a “grand bargain” can be approved. & Although Rauner spent the bulk of his speech recounting accomplishments during his first two years in office, he acknowledged “significant challenges” still facing the state, including not having a permanent budget, an $11 billion backlog of unpaid bills and a $130 billion pension debt. & The Republican governor spoke of the need for changes that will promote job growth such as workers’ compensation reform and property tax relief. He did not specifically comment on the workers’ comp reforms and property tax relief that are part of the Senate’s package of bills.

WASHINGTON DC (Ben Wolfgang and S.A. Miller -Washington Times please click on the link for the complete story and other stories about the actions of the Trump administration ) President Trump resurrected the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines Tuesday, thrilling labor unions and advocates for domestic energy but outraging environmentalists and American Indians whose fierce protests persuaded the Obama administration to kill both projects. For Mr. Trump, reopening negotiations to build the cross-country pipelines was all about the jobs agenda that has dominated his first days in office. “We’ll see if we can get that pipeline built. A lot of jobs, 28,000 jobs — great construction jobs,” Mr. Trump said when signing the presidential memorandum that revived the proposed Keystone XL project. When completed, the Canada-to-Texas pipeline would carry more than 700,000 barrels of Canadian oil each day to refineries along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
