Jerry Donald Barnfield passed into Heaven on October 14, 2026, while living in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
He was 89 years old.
Jerry was born on March 23, 1937 in Ina, Illinois. He was the son of Byford and Margaruite (Doty) Barnfield. He married his high school sweetheart Alice Jane Johnston November 10, 1955. She proceeded him in death August 9, 2008.
Jerry is survived by 2 daughters, Wendy Froman ( Mark) Cameron, Texas, Leigh Lynch (Michael) Simpsonville, Kentucky. 1 son, Cory Barnfield (Ashley) Louisville, Kentucky. 1 Grandson, Tyler Froman, (Kelsey) Montgomery, Texas. 1 Grandaughter Clara Greer (Jackson) Grapevine, Texas, 1 great grandaughter Kara Anne Froman.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brothers Frank Barnfield, Robert Barnfield, his sisters Sue Varvel and Judy Darr.
Jerry was a member of Rescue Freewill Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran. He worked for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for 41 years. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, and brother.
He loved fishing and spending time with family and friends .
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 20th at the Franklin Cemetery in Whittington with Rev. Bryant Harris officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Benton American Legion #280 and VFW Post #2671. There will be No Visitation, those attending the service are requested to meet at the cemetery.
