Virginia F. Darr, 93, of Benton passed away on Wednesday morning October 14, 2026 at SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She was born in Will County, IL on February 21, 1933 the daughter of Fred & Katherine Schranz.

She married Donald R. Darr on October of 1951 and he survives.

Mrs. Darr loved gardening, flowers, shopping and cooking for her family. She loved for all the family to come for Sunday dinners. She dearly loved all of her family.

Cindy Darr of Benton
Laurie Peterson & husband Tim of Vista, CA

1 Grandson: Joe Peterson of Vista, CA

Sister: Carolyn Schranz of Homewood

Sister-in-law: Neila Gibbons of Benton

She is also survived by several Nieces & Nephews.

Mrs. Darr was preceded in death by her Parents, Sister-Martha Robey, Sister-Jeanette, Brother-in-law-Ronald Darr Sr & wife Judy, Sister-in-law Mona Dawson and her In-laws-John & Lottie Darr.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 19th at the Williams Chapel Cemetery in Ewing with Rev. William Hottensen officiating. Burial will follow. There will be a visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday at the cemetery.
