Gene Giacomo, 89, of Mulkeytown, passed away on Thursday July 2, 2026 at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1937 in Pinckneyville, IL to George and Mary (Ritter) Giacomo. He married Judith (Mabry) Giacomo on January 17, 1959 and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Jerry) Young of Mulkeytown; grandchildren Rachel (Jeremy) Chaney, Jacob (Niki) Tindall, Lindsay (Dakota) Smith and Jeremy Young; great grandchildren Lucas, Wyatt, Khloe, Colton, Gracelynn, Paisley, Everley, Maryann and Charlotte and one sister Doris Valette of Mulkeytown and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister and brother-in-law Celeste and Clarence Epplin, brother and sister-law Earl and Maxine Giacomo and brother-in-law Robert Valette.
Graveside services will be on Tuesday July 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St Andrews Catholic Cemetery with Father Urban Osuji officiating. Burial will be at St Andrews Catholic Cemetery.
