Benny Leroy Swingle, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on September 22, 1942, Benny lived a full and meaningful life marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep love for his family. Benny was known for his generous heart, steady wisdom, and the way he could make anyone feel welcome. Whether sharing stories from years past, lending a helping hand, or offering a bit of humor just when it was needed most, Benny’s presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him.
He is survived by his devoted daughters, Sheila Key and Rita Branche, who were the pride and joy of his life. Benny’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Samantha Loy (Conway Loy), Glenn Marks (Breanna Marks), Taylor Owens, Randy Branche Jr. (Jessica Branche), James Branche, and Shelby Thompson. He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought him endless smiles and joy: Aaliyah Booker, Sadie Booker, Harleigh Booker, Mazie Marks, Adrianna Marks, Aiden Marks, Atlas Marks, Watson Marks, Scarlett Owens, Sophia Owens, Madison Branche, Emma Branche, Randy Branche III, Amanda Sheppard, and Orion Branche. Benny is preceded in death by his lifelong companion Minnie Boner and his great-granddaughter Amanda Marks, whom he now joins in eternal peace.
Benny’s life was a testament to love, family, and resilience. His stories, laughter, and the lessons he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he has left this world, the warmth of his spirit will remain forever.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Harrison Cemetery in Buckner.
