Johnston City park to be named after well-known sportscaster Michael Dean, who died in 2006 car crash

JOHNSTON CITY — When Johnston City Police Chief William Stark announced plans to raise funds for updating a Johnston City park to give youth in town something to do, Jimmy Dean had an idea. After talking with his wife, Donnette, he asked the city to name the park after their son, Michael Dean, who died as the result of a car accident in July 2006.
