SESSER – The Woodlawn Cardinals jumped out to a 28-11 first quarter lead and never looked back as they defeated the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes 73-37, in a first round game of the Sesser-Valier Holiday tournament.

The Cardinals were led by a game high 31 points from Blake McKay, 11 from Race Rynski and 10 points from Jackson Bennett.

Woodlawn advances to 7-3 on the season. They will face Johnston City at 5 p.m. this afternoon in the quarterfinals.
Zeigler-Royalton falls to 0-7 and they face the Odin Eagles at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon in a quarterfinal game. The Eagles are coached by former Z-R standout, Tyler Mitchell.
