Obituary – Donald “Duck” Simion – Christopher, IL

Donald “Duck” Simion, 74, of Christopher, IL,  passed away January 3, 2016 at VA Medical Center, in Marion, IL.

Donald was born July 24, 1941, the son of Rudolph Simion and Opal (Roberts) Simion.

He married Karen (Flowers) Simion on June 27, 1966 and she survives.

Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his children, Aaron and Mary Simion, of Christopher and Eric and Wendy Simion, of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, Darrell and Rose Simion, of Christopher and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery, in Christopher.  Entombment will be at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Christopher. In lieu of flowers memorial should be made to the ALS Association, 2258 Weldon Parkway, St. Louis, MO, 63158

Friends ask are asked to meet at the St. Andrews Cemetery.

The family of Duck Simion would like to invite family & friends to a luncheon at Duckie’s Station following the graveside service.

Gilbert Funeral Home, in Christopher, is in charge of arrangements.
