Harry Eubanks – Benton, IL

BENTON — Harry Eubanks, 78, of Benton, died March 25, 2015, at Helia HealthCare in Benton.

harry eubanksHarry was born Dec. 20, 1936, the son of Albert and Dorothy (Mills) Eubanks.

He married Mildred (Lampley) June 12, 1959, in Chicago.

Harry was a coal miner and worked at Ziegler Coal Co. 3, Inland Steel Coal, in McLeansboro, IL and Old Ben 24.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

Harry attended the First Baptist Church of West City.

Harry is survived by his wife, Mildred Eubanks of Benton; two daughters, Judy (Mike) Clark of Benton, and Norma (Bill) Uhles of Benton; six grandchildren, Christopher (Brooke) McCann, Jeremiah McCann, Alisha (Bryan) Craddock, Jennifer (Ben) McIntosh, Matthew Uhles and fiancée, Samantha, and Mark Uhles and fiancée, Molly; five great-grandchildren, Raley and Tenley McIntosh, Gavin and Callie McCann and Khloe Uhles; two brothers, Robert (Sue) Eubanks and Richard (Kelly) Eubanks; one sister, Juanita (Lewis) Sweers; brother-in-law, Bill Lampley; and sister-in-law, Shelva Lampley.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jerry Eubanks and Al Eubanks; three sisters, Phyllis Landis, Patricia and Mary Lou; an infant great-grandson, William Michael McIntosh; brothers-in-law, Gene Lampley and John Lampley; brother and sister-in-law, Helen and Glendale Gulley; sister-in-law, Linda Lampley; and mother-in-law; father-in-law, John and Juanita McCann Lampley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, with the Rev. Bert Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be Sunday from 12 noon until the time of the service at Morton and Johnston Funeral Home.
